Nissan Versa Note (2014) [w/Gallery]

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

Nissan has unveiled its 2014 Versa Note at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

The new design aims to improve fuel economy through improved aerodynamics and has a drag coefficient of 0.298, achieved with the aid of Nissan's first Active Grille Shutter. The Versa Note, which uses the carmaker's global ‘V' platform, sits on a long wheelbase of 2,600mm and has short front and rear overhangs.

The wide sweeping grille curves upwards and cuts into the narrowed headlamps while the lower air intake is framed to both sides by the inset fog lamps. Two lines also feed down from the base of the A-pillar into the grille.

A strong bodyside character line originating from behind the front wheelarch rises backwards and flows into the rear lamps while a smoother line curves downwards before feeding into the rear wheelarch. At the rear combination lights feature, with the aero flares designed to enhance the aerodynamics.

Inside, the Versa Note features analog gauges and a touchscreen set into the center console, topped by two air vents, while three controls sit underneath the touchscreen. Two interior colors are available: Charcoal and Wheat Stone.
